Cooked Bacon, in the region also popular under the name of hamburger, is made of streaky pork back fat. The cross-section displays evenly distributed meaty and fatty parts. Streaky cooked bacon is mildly smoked and has quite a juicy taste.

Serving suggestions

Medium-life cured meats should be cut into thin slices around 1 mm thick. It is important to peel off the string wrap before slicing.

Thin-slice medium-life cured meats are commonly used as the main ingredients in hot and cold sandwiches, usually combined with hard or melted cheese and fresh vegetables. Sliced into small cubes or thin strips, medium-life cured meat are also used to prepare colourful salads with a variety of vegetables, cheese, cream and spices, which makes a proper, refreshing meal. Medium-life cured meats can also give flavour to various types of pizzas.
