This sausage is made by using finely minced pork and beef and prepared in accordance with the traditional technology of the old masters of trade, and is very similar to hot-dogs and frankfurters. It is heat treated – dried, smoked, and cooked. In terms of seasoning, it is a rather well harmonized product, and natural casings are used for the fine-textured stuffing.

Knackwurst was considered a delicacy at the Habsburg court and the royal family enjoyed its rich flavour and refined aromatic seasonings.

Serving Suggestions

Knackwurst is best if briefly boiled before serving. If you add various sauces, vegetable stews and side dishes, it turns into a quick and simple meal any time of day. You can enjoy knackwurst even without additional cooking, as a base for various meat salads.
