Choice, uniformly lean pieces of pork leg, with a very small fat content, are picked by hand. The exquisite juiciness of the product is achieved through mild smoking over natural beech wood and roasting.
Premium hams also require careful slicing. Hams are sliced even thinner than dry sausages. Depending on size, slices should be between 0.8 and 1.2 mm thick. The best way is to make sure that the slices are as thin as possible. Ham is always sliced breadth-wise and by no means sideways.
Deli Ham tastes best when sliced thin and served with semi-hard piquant cheese like Emmentaler or Gauda cheese. You can also serve it with asparagus, artichokes or Salad Olivier. Deli Ham can be wrapped in bread dough and baked in the oven.
